MUSCAT: Due to the expansion of Al Rusayl-Bidbid Road and the impact of the water transport pipes of Al Dakhiliyah Governorate, Oman Water and Wastewater Services Company (OWWSC), in coordination with the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology, will carry out the work of moving the main water pipe of Al Dhakiliyah Governorate on December 26, 27. It is expected the work will be implemented in 24 hours, and the water service will gradually return within 48 hours.
Eng Abdullah bin Mohammed al Nuaimi, CEO, Operation and Maintenance, OWWSC said: “The Company has taken necessary measures to ensure the provision of water according to the emergency procedures guide by activating alternative water sources (wells) and using water tankers to transport water to the main reservoirs. It also provided water tankers to supply water to customers, which can be obtained by contacting the call centre.
Al Nuaimi added: “The OWWSC will also provide water storage tanks for groups of society, including those with limited income and social security. The distribution is in co-operation with the walis’ offices of each wilayats and based on special criteria.
