In line with global digital trends and the Bank’s commitment to implementing online innovative banking solutions and services, Bank Muscat, the leading financial service provider in the Sultanate of Oman, has launched the Tap‘N’Go service available on various Android devices that are enabled with the Near Field Communication (NFC) feature. The service eliminates the need of having a physical terminal to accept payments. To launch the new service, it is worth noting that a memorandum of understanding was recently signed by Bank Muscat and Visa. The memorandum was signed by Abdullah bin Hamood Al Jufaili, Assistant General Manager, Digital Banking, Bank Muscat and Manish Gautum, Visa’s Country Manager for the Sultanate of Oman. Launching the new service came in translation of the Bank’s vision “To serve you better, everyday,” aiming to facilitate customers’ access to a suite of innovative digital banking services and solutions that cater to their diverse needs and recent preferences. The new service also allows customers to initiate and complete transactions in a quick and secure manner.
The new service is a revolutionary technology that allows merchants and business owners including home business owners to accept card payments directly on their Android phones and smart devices of version 11 and above. All NFC-enabled payment cards may be used for customers to initiate payment transactions via the Tap‘N’Go application. This digital service is available for Bank Muscat and Meethaq customers alike. However, merchants have to open a merchant account that allows business to accept card payments, in addition to opening a Bank Muscat corporate account. Furthermore, the technology also enables merchants to verify their transactions through the application which can be directly downloaded using the App Stores on the Android smartphones and following the steps illustrated onhttps://www.bankmuscat.com/ar/Business/Digitalsolutions/Pages/TapAndGo.aspx.
Tap‘N’Go users will receive a daily account statement on their registered email ID and may also check the completion status of their transactions by viewing the last transactions initiated through the application as well as verifying the transaction amounts. Customers may also void transactions through the appon the day of its initiation.
Speaking on the occasion, Abdullah Hamood Al Jufaili, Assistant General Manager, Digital Banking, Bank Muscat, said: “We are delighted about the launch of the new digital service.
