The Zubair Corporation (TZC) proudly celebrated Omani Women’s Day with a vibrant and empowering event, honouring the achievements, contributions, and spirit of the 500 women across the group. The event, held under the patronage of The Honourable Eng. Naashiah Saud Al Kharusi, deomnstratd the banner of the SheSpirit initiative, focused on promoting women’s empowerment, health, and work-life balance.
The celebration began with opening remarks by Sharifa Al Balushi, Group Head of the Human Capital Centre of Excellence at TZC, who stated, “At The Zubair Corporation, we recognise the integral role women play in shaping the future of our organisation. From leadership roles to operational excellence, our female employees are at the heart of our success, and we remain committed to providing the support, growth opportunities, and resources they need to thrive. Omani Women’s Day is not just a celebration; it is a powerful reminder of the crucial role women play in shaping our society. Omani women have demonstrated that they are not only integral to the social fabric but also essential pillars driving the economic and social progress of our nation.”
The highlight of the day was an insightful panel discussion featuring The Honourable Eng. Naashiah Saud Al Kharusi, a prominent figure in Omani engineering. The panel sparked meaningful conversations on women’s evolving role in traditionally male-dominated sectors. Ruba Sheikh, a well-known nutritionist, engaged the audience in an interactive dialogue on women’s health and nutrition. Her session included a Q&A, allowing participants to gain valuable insights into maintaining a healthy and balanced lifestyle.
The festivities continued with a fun-filled cake decoration competition, judged by the skilled pastry chef at the Shangri La Barr Al Jissah. The competition brought out the creativity of the participants, adding a touch of light-hearted fun to the day.
During a session on the Role of Women at The Zubair Corporation, TZC’s GCEO, Niels Bormans, shared his thoughts on equality and empowerment, saying, “Equality is not just a principle but a practice at The Zubair Corporation. We believe that empowering women is key to driving innovation, fostering a culture of inclusivity, and ultimately, achieving our vision. Today, we celebrate the remarkable women who contribute to the growth of the Corporation and the nation.”
The day culminated with a Long Service Awards Ceremony, where the GCEO and Leadership Team honoured women employees for their dedication and long-standing commitment to the Corporation, capturing and celebrating their invaluable contributions to the company’s legacy for 20 years and above.
