The SMEs Development Authority and Bank Muscat are pleased to announce the inauguration of Al Wathbah Ramadhan souq, taking place from Thursday, March 6 to Saturday, March 8, 2025, at the Bank’s headquarters in Airport Heights. Marking the 11th edition this year, the souq will feature the participation of approximately 150 entrepreneurs and home business owners. This initiative reflects the Bank ongoing commitment to enhancing social responsibility and supporting the development of the business sector.
Al Wathbah Ramadhan souq provides a platform for entrepreneurs and home businesses to showcase their diverse range of products to the public, thereby opening new marketing avenues and fostering collaboration and experience-sharing among participants. Attendees can expect to find a variety of local products, including fashion items, health and beauty products, home décor, accessories, culinary delights, heritage tools, perfumes, and a wide array of supplies in preparation for Eid al-Fitr. The souq will be open to the general public from 8 PM to midnight.
This annual event underscores the dedication of the SME Development Authority and Bank Muscat to nurturing and developing this vital sector, which serves as the backbone of the national economy. Al Wathbah souq has garnered significant attention from both the community and the media, encouraging visitors to support local initiatives and fostering awareness of the importance of small and emerging enterprises. Following the success of previous years, the event is anticipated to witness a particularly vibrant atmosphere this year, especially that it is happening during Ramadhan, a time of heightened commercial activity and Eid preparations.
Bank Muscat remains committed to supporting SMEs through various strategic initiatives, including Al Wathbah Academy, launched in 2014 to empower Omani entrepreneurs. Also, Al Wathbah department offers a comprehensive range of banking and non-banking solutions, including education, training, and workshops aimed at enhancing growth and expansion opportunities for entrepreneurs. The Bank continues to strengthen its partnerships with government institutions and the private sector, with a particular focus on empowering youth, who play a crucial role in the strategic plans of Oman Vision 2040.
