Al Wathbah Ramadhan souq, organized by Bank Muscat in cooperation with the SMEs Development Authority, has once again reported a remarkable turnout and vibrant atmosphere at this year’s event, held at the Bank’s headquarters in Airport Heights. This year’s souq featured the participation of a large number of entrepreneurs and home business owners, further reinforcing the Bank’s unwavering dedication to social responsibility and the development of the business sector.
During a span of three days, the souq provided an invaluable platform for participants to present their diverse range of products, from fashion items, health and beauty products, home décor, accessories, culinary delights, heritage tools and perfumes, attracting a large number of visitors eager to support local enterprises. The event’s success was highlighted by the enthusiastic engagement of the public, who were treated to a unique shopping experience in preparation for Eid al-Fitr. The variety and quality of products on display demonstrated the creativity and entrepreneurial spirit of the participants, drawing praise from visitors.
Ibrahim bin Khamis Al Balushi, Senior Assistant General Manager, SMEs, remarked: “The annual Al Wathbah Ramadhan souq stands as a testament to our commitment to nurturing small and medium businesses, which are vital to the national economy. We are proud of the overwhelming response from the public this year which underscores the importance of such initiatives in empowering entrepreneurs and they not only fuel economic activity but also as platforms to strengthen social ties and promote cultural heritage through the displayed products. I would like to thank the participants, the SMEs Authority and the customers for their trust and support.”
One of the participating entrepreneurs, Zainab bint Abdullah Al Araimi, Owner of a female fashion outlet, expressed her gratitude, saying: “This souq provided an excellent opportunity for us to reach new customers and share our products with a wider audience. The support from Bank Muscat and the SME Development Authority has been instrumental in our growth. It has given us the confidence to expand our business and innovate further. So, would like to thank both institution for these efforts”
Ghaidaa bint Mohammed Al Harthi, Owner of “Plant with Ghaidaa”, said: “Being part of Al Wathbah Ramadhan souq allowed us to network with fellow entrepreneurs and gain valuable insights into the market. The exposure we’ve received has been incredible, and we really appreciate the efforts of the organizers of this annual important event. It has opened doors to new collaborations and inspired us to strive for excellence.”
Abdullah bin Nasser Al Bemani, Owner of “Eamma” for male fashion outlet, said: “I am glad to be among so many inspiring Omani projects. This participation was an opportunity to exchange views with other entrepreneurs, and it is certainly an enriching experience being held at Bank Muscat. I appreciate these efforts and we hope that such initiatives will continue in the future.”
Maimona bin Saud Al Ruqaishi, one of the visitors to the souq said: “the souq is large and diverse and it contains a number of corners that serve different tastes. Al Wathbah souq is featured that all projects are local and run by Omani entrepreneurs. So, it was important to come to support these young people and it is also an opportunity to shop for Eid al-Fitr.”
