As part of its ongoing commitment to providing job and training opportunities for Omani youth, Bank Muscat, the leading financial institution in the Sultanate of Oman, participated in the recent Career and Training Opportunities Exhibition at the College of Banking and Financial Studies, which was inaugurated under the patronage of H.E. Khalid bin Salim Al-Ghamari, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Labour. The exhibition saw the participation of more than 20 institutions representing various sectors of the workforce.
As part of its involvement, Bank Muscat’s dedicated booth at the exhibition introduced students to the job and training opportunities available at the Bank, as well as the benefits offered to employees, and its role in fostering a positive work environment. Additionally, the Bank highlighted the types of job and training specialisations available; while also providing information on how to apply for the opportunities the Bank offers annually across various sectors of the banking industry.
Bank Muscat prioritizes participation in job and training fairs organized by higher education institutions. These exhibitions are crucial as they provide an excellent platform for students to meet with both public and private sector institutions under one roof, enabling them to learn about the respective recruitment policies. The Bank is committed to engaging with students and providing them with comprehensive insights into the roles available.
The Bank continues to collaborate with a number of educational institutions—universities and colleges—to achieve its goals of sustainable human capital development. Since the beginning of this year 2025, Bank Muscat has provided 198 job opportunities and 616 training opportunities for students in disciplines related to the banking sector. This annual initiative is designed to provide students with the best possible opportunities to develop their practical skills in various fields, especially in banking and finance. The Bank’s training department deploys trainees’ students across various departments and branches nationwide, monitoring their performance throughout the training period. Last year 2024, Bank Muscat provided 637 training opportunities for students from various educational institutions across the Sultanate.
Bank Muscat remains deeply committed to the continuous development of its human resources, ensuring the provision of an ideal working environment for employees to carry out tasks to the best of their abilities. The Bank also motivates and incentivizes its workforce through various development programmes. With pride, Bank Muscat reports that the Omani workforce now constitutes 92.25% of the total employees, numbering more than 4,500 staff members, of which 46.34% are female employees. The Bank recently was honoured with the Company of the Year for HR Empowerment Award from Muscat Media Group for its pioneering role in empowering youth through investing in the various training and development initiatives.
