Local sports teams play a vital role in engaging large segments of youth across different age groups. Their facilities serve as hubs for sports activities and social events, while also contributing to the expansion of green spaces across the Sultanate. The Green Sports Programme was developed to strengthen the role of these teams by supporting Omani youth and providing suitable infrastructure to nurture their sporting, cultural, and social talents.
Since its launch in 2012, the Green Sports Programme witnessed a strong demand and high level of competition. The Bank is committed to partnering with community sports teams and relevant stakeholders to meet youth aspirations and support them in sports and social development. The Green Sports Programme stands as a successful model of community service, contributing to the development of sustainable sports infrastructure for local teams across the Sultanate.
