Being a strategic partner in the success of the initiative
Bank Muscat, the leading financial services provider in the Sultanate of Oman, has extended the impact of the “Fak Kurba” initiative organized by the Omani Lawyers Association in coordination with the Ministry of Social Development and the Supreme Judicial Council. The Bank’s annual support to the initiative reaffirms its ongoing commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility CSR and community service. The current edition of the initiative reflects the ongoing partnership between the Omani Lawyers Association throughout the past eight years. The initiative aims to support individuals incarcerated due to failing to clear financial obligations. The Bank has actively contributed to the initiative by supporting 297 cases of individuals involved in civil, commercial, religious, and labor-related cases. Until now, the Bank has contributed to the resolve of 2,200 cases, excluding cases related to banking or financial institutions.

The initiative, since it was launched in 2012, has contributed to resolving many cases across the Sultanate and has been running as a year-round sustainable project.
On this occasion, Hamad Hamdan Al Rubaie, Chairman of the Oman Lawyers Association, said: “We are pleasantly proud of continuing our partnership with Bank Muscat that has been the strategic contributor to the success of this humanitarian initiative for many years. The success of this year’s edition of the Fak Kurba initiative reflects the continued profound and positive impact of this humanitarian project since its inception. Throughout the past years, the initiative has contributed to the resolve of over 8198 individuals. We take pride in the growing support the initiative receives annually from both individuals and institutions, reflecting the solidarity of the Omani community in promoting values of cooperation and compassion. We would like to extend our sincere gratitude to all contributors for their partnership with the Association in implementing the initiative. Special thanks go to Bank Muscat for its ongoing and valuable support, which has resulted in the success and expansion of the initiative.”
