Epidemiological maps of disease vectors reviewed

Muscat: The Ministry of Health on Sunday hosted a joint meeting between a number of government units to study issues and challenges related to disease vectors.

During the meeting, Dr. Ahmed Mohammed Al Sa’eedi, Minister of Health, reviewed epidemiological maps of disease vectors, the epidemiological burden of vector-borne diseases and the efforts exerted in all sectors to combat vectors.

They also highlighted a number of solutions and suggestions to be submitted to the Council of Ministers.

The participants in the meeting exhorted citizens and residents to be responsible and steadfast in adhering to the right health measures to curb the spread of disease vectors.

The meeting was attended by Dr. Saud Hamoud Al Habsi, Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources, Sayyid Khalifa Al Murdas Al Busaidi, Secretary General of Governorates Affairs at the Ministry of Interior, Dr. Abdullah Ali Al Amri, Chairman of the Environment Authority, Director General of Dhofar Municipality and representatives from other departments concerned.
