The fourth edition of the Roca One Day Design Challenge in association with the Khimji Ramdas Group in Oman will take place on the 9th October, this year in an online format.
After attracting over 100 participants at national level in 2019, the competition promises to once again test the imagination and skill of hundreds of students and professional designers and architects under the age of 30 from all over the country. They will be challenged to create innovative solutions for the bathroom space that can contribute towards a more sustainable and conscious future.
Registration for Roca One Day Design Challenge 2021 is open until 11:59 pm (UTC+4) on October 6, 2021. Interested participants can log on to www.onedaydesignchallenge.net to register.
In light of the restrictions imposed by the current pandemic, the 4th Oman edition of this international competition will be held online, a way to continue to fulfill its goal of giving visibility to young talents and promoting access to professional opportunities.
The One Day Design Challenge is organised in a time trial format, inviting young designers and architects to prove the value of their ideas for the bathroom space in the course of one intense day. On October 9, participants will have to create projects based on a briefing given at 9am on the official @rocachallenge Instagram page, racing against the clock to upload them on the competition’s website until 5.00pm. The winners will then be announced at 7:30 pm on Instagram. The awards ceremony will take place subsequently at Khimji Ramdas Infra Campus at Ghala, Oman.
The winning project will receive a prize of RO 600 and there are additional prizes of RO 400 and RO 200 for the second and third-placed entries.
