Education / Qualification
• Bsc or Diploma (with minimum of three (3) years experience) in Computer science or computing technology, electronics, data communication or related subjects.
• Foundation Certificate in IT Service Management OR
• Microsoft Certified Professional (covers Microsoft Windows Operating system, excel, word and PowerPoint) OR
• Microsoft Certified Desktop Support Technician (MCDST)
• Strongly recommend that candidate attend course, or have awareness in customer Services / Helpdesk.
Experience and other skills:
At least experience in the support and maintenance of computing equipment (PC hardware and software products). Skills and experience in data communication and networking will be an added advantage.
• Senior 5+ experience in support of end-user devices and related software.
• Junior 2-3 years’ experience in support of end-user devices and related software.
• Knowledge of minimum Windows 7, IOS, Android and Windows Mobile.
• Good knowledge of Company’s standard productivity tools and platforms, with extensive knowledge of at least two (2) years of the supported products.
• Proficient knowledge of PC hardware and software installation.
• Good knowledge of data communications systems & techniques and Networking.
• Knowledge of troubleshooting end user equipment.
• Awareness of Change management processes.
• Customer focused.
• Good Problem solving skills.
• Candidates should be able to communicate fluently in written and spoken English.
• Shall have good listening & interpersonal skills, both in face to face and telephone conversations.
• Shall be able to work as a team and be willing to transfer knowledge to other Personnel.
• Shall be able to manage time and cope under pressure.
• Good Report writing skills.
• Posses a valid Omani driving license (if working in the interior, be prepared to move/work at different sites).
Other Value Adding skills
• MCSA 2008 or 2012
• MSCA SQL Server is preferred
• Technical Support role supporting core Microsoft Server Operating Systems (Windows 2003 & 2008) and Microsoft Exchange server 2010 and 2012
• Experience supporting networking and storage technologies (i.e. TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, LAN, WAN, ,CIFS, iSCSI, SCSI, RAID, iFCP, VPN, SATA/IDE, etc)
• Knowledge in storage technologies DAS, NAS, RAID, iSCSI, SCSI, iFCP, etc.
• Microsoft SQL Server administration
• Administration/troubleshooting of Microsoft IIS
