Neurologist (Specialist)
Sultan Qaboos Comprehensive Cancer Care and Research Center
Muscat, Sultanate of Oman
The Sultan Qaboos Comprehensive Cancer Care & Research Center (SQCCC) in Muscat Oman a Quaternary care level center providing care for adult patients with solid malignancies (No hematological malignancies).
SQCCC is seeking to appoint a Neurologist (Specialist), who is a highly motivated individual to develop her/his professional career within the SQCCC.
The SQCCC will open its doors to patients in 2020. The center is in a family-friendly area while offering young singles many options for an active outdoor and social scene. The SQCCC is aspiring to be a high-tech center with innovative -patient and staff centered- technologies. A work environment that is fun and rewarding.
Education/Qualifications:
Basic medical degree from a recognized institution
exit qualification in neurology
Preference will be given for those with a fellowship in clinical neurophysiology
Experience Post-Qualifications:
not required
He/she should be able to:
- Diagnose complex medical problems by referring to a patient’s history, examining them and conducting neurological tests.
- Counsel patients on neurological disorders and its background.
- Order neurological tests and interpret the results of basic neuroimaging studies.
- Prescribe and/or administer treatment and medication related to various neurological disorders.
- Monitor the behavioral and cognitive side effects of treatment and medication.
- Order supportive care services for patients with neurological disorders.
- Participate in neuroscience research activities.
- Liaise with medical professionals in the community and hospitals.
- Keep up-to-date with neurological developments, treatment and medication.
- Perform and interpret lumbar punctures
- Able to report electroencephalography, nerve conduction studies, Evoked potentials and able to perform and report electromyography.
Salary will be based upon experience and qualification and availability of grade.
