Director – Asset Liability Management (Omani National)
JOB SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Assist in Managing Oman branch for GM and work in conjunction with the HO and Oman team in building the liquidity business model.
Required to work in a transparent manner with full collaboration between departments ensuring GM is correctly aligned as a bank.
Ensure working in a transparent manner with HO
Improve the standard of professionalism in the Oman Branch, training staff when required.
To increase business, support sales and develop the flow and utilize the APL to add value in day to day liquidity management.
To cross train and ensure consistent experience levels across the business.
The candidate will ensure that any new initiative satisfy the strategic goals of FAB globally, meet client requirements and strive to put FAB at the forefront of innovations within its chosen markets.
The candidate will show strength in strategic thinking to create value added and revenue generating ideas and develop existing arbitrage tools.
The candidate should be motivated to succeed and drive business through all channels.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist in Managing the funding gaps within liquidity and Market risk appetite of the bank
Enhance FAB’s position in Money Market products.
Responsible for ensuring liquidity is managed in accordance with Regulatory and ALCO directives.
Attend the local ALCO and provide an update for GM on the liquidity landscape.
To be the key member of the GM and will continue the work to put FAB in the G-international marketplace
Continue building on FAB platform incorporating all approved products on the desk to maximize books within the GCR Department, whilst working as 1 team with HO.
To show ability to pass on experience to other team members when developing new strategies.
Be accountable for the risk levels and limits set by desk head and be responsible for adding revenue streams to GCR overall number.
Work in a team environment and align business with overall strategy of the vision of FAB
Enables the business to differentiate from the competition by anticipating client and market indicators to capitalize on opportunities and ensure positioning is appropriate for current and future requirements using a broad range of available products and currencies
Work with the RM and Sales teams capturing flow and pricing for new additional local customers business and ensuring one consistent FAB offering globally. Be ready to assist Sales in visits when required.
Continually interface with desk head to ensure all positions are transparent and ensure requirements of FAB remains the target.
Have the ability to increase awareness of management with excellent excel skills in document’s/Presentation’s that will show a transparent view of desk position’s and idea’s.
To maintain and enhance market counterparty and customer perception of FAB as the number one institution for local banks international flow in GCR/Cash & Collateral business.
Responsible for achieving business and financial targets set by the MD- Global Head of ALM.
EXPEREINCE AND KNOWLEDGE:
Minimum of 5 years’ experience of trading and managing interest rate risk at a leading bank
In-depth knowledge of all financial market products and operations
Positive attitude towards teamwork
Proven track record on managing risk/liquidity effectively to deliver consistent financial performance
Strong communication skills
Ability to conduct themselves professionally
Ability to lead a team and encourage growth in others.
