7 favourite foods you never knew were causing dull teeth

Are your teeth starting to look dull and discoloured? You might want to consider your diet. Many of the foods and beverages we consume daily can cause dull teeth.You don’t have to feel embarrassed about the state of your smile! Instead, consider avoiding these foods and beverages for a while. Avoiding these foods can also help you avoid a lacklustre smile.

Improve the appearance of your teeth by removing these foods from your diet today

1. Soda
Your mouth needs saliva in order to keep your teeth healthy and clean. Saliva keeps food from lingering on the surface of your teeth. Otherwise, lingering food particles can lead to dull teeth and cavities.Soda can impact your tooth help, too. Soda sticks to your teeth, leading to plaque production. Your risk of cavities could increase as a result. Sodas also contain colour dyes, which can also lead to discolouration.

2. Sour Candy
Toss that Halloween candy out! Otherwise, candy can impact the state of your smile as well. Sour candy especially contains extra acids that can impact the appearance of your teeth. Chewy candies can cling to your teeth, too.

3. Dried Fruit
Like candy, dried fruit can cling to the surface of your teeth, leading to cavities. Dried fruit can also cause sugar to linger against the surface of your teeth. It might get caught in the crevices of your teeth, too.

4. Bread
Saliva naturally breaks the starch in bread into sugar. Remember, sugar can impact the state of your teeth. Once it turns into a paste-like texture, it can cling to your teeth, too. Consider choosing whole wheat options instead of white bread.

5. Chips
Like candy, crunchy foods such as chips can cling to your teeth. They can also trap sugar between your teeth, leading to a dull smile.

6. Citrus
You might want to consider a cosmetic dental procedure if you consume a lot of citrus. Citrus from lemons, oranges, and grapefruit can erode tooth enamel. Make sure to drink water afterward to protect your teeth.

7. Coffee and tea
Consider minimising your coffee and tea intake. Both coffee and tea can discolor your teeth. They can also dry out your mouth, impacting saliva production.
