Muscat: The Ministry of Information on Tuesday celebrated the official launch of Ayn platform, which is considered the largest Omani audiovisual content outlet.
This project comes to keep pace with the tremendous developments in the media in terms of content, model and technology.
The platform presents Oman’s civilization through its history, present and future to broaden the prospects and influence of the media’s message.
A statement was issued on this occasion by Dr Abdullah Nasser al Harasi, Minister of Information during which he said that the launch of this platform coincides with Oman’s celebrations of the 11th of January anniversary, the day when His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik assumed reins of power as the architect of Oman’s Renewed Renaissance. This move comes to keep pace with the digital transformation within the goals of Oman Vision 2040, affirmed Dr Abdullah.
He added, “Ayn platform represents a complete shift in the field of modern electronic media services that are based on high efficiency. The platform increases the Omani presence in various electronic mediums. It also sheds light on national achievements. The platform, through its website and smart devices application, offers a unique experience, which is more fun and easy to use.”
Ayn’s library contains a huge collection of audiovisual content produced by Oman’s radio and television over a span of decades.
The Ministry of Information invites all people to use the platform by downloading the Ayn app on their smart devices or through the website to give feedback that will contribute to developing and enhancing the provided services. –ONA
