When Mama Dog didn't expect the warm welcome…

With the development of modern technologies in various fields, the future of the world has become dependent on the accelerated application of artificial intelligence (AI) to achieve the sustainable development goals (SDGs) set by the United Nations.

Today, these technologies have great potential to guide us in securing the future of the planet we live on. Artificial intelligence will enter all areas of life, to sustain our daily living, and to enable the delivery of speedy and efficient services. AI will enable individuals, industries and societies to meet, to a certain extent, the required service and resource needs of the growing population.

During the past few years, artificial intelligence has developed significantly.

AI-based advanced tools are beginning to replace workers in certain jobs and functions. This is no longer science fiction, but rather a fact as a result of the development of artificial intelligence methods through machine learning by these technologies.

Consequently, mastery in Artificial Intelligence has become the goal of all countries, which are now strengthening efforts, developing scientific capabilities, strengthening the fields of scientific research and qualifying cadres and workers in institutions on how to benefit from AI in the future.

It also requires accelerating the adoption of artificial intelligence in vital sectors in order to drive economic diversification and boost economic growth. Today, artificial intelligence has become an important tool to change the course of people’s lives by developing applications that are involved in various industries and daily production processes by relying on deep learning technology and algorithm sciences that simulate neurons in the human body, which enables to understand and analyse data, information and ideas.

With the use of AI, machines can be programmed to, for example, respond to human requests, read pictures, understand others, listen to voices and learn everything new.

Such ideas require strengthening cybersecurity programmes and solutions for institutions and companies that rely on modern technologies.

Countries in the Gulf and Middle East have been making good strides in the application of technologies and utilising AI, given that the high-tech industry based on these technologies will be worth $320 billion by 2030.

Also, according to Gartner, around 50 per cent of companies are expected to adopt global artificial intelligence operations by 2025, and improve their strategy to deal with big data and modern technologies to keep pace with developments.

However, governments will also need to create laws to protect data and privacy, use information and communication technology and digital services, develop communications infrastructure and provide digital skills and entrepreneurship to apply artificial intelligence in public services such as health, education and smart government applications, and in the areas of investment, finance and the promotion of scientific innovation.
