Muscat: Dr. Abdullah bin Khamis Ambosaidi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education sponsored the opening ceremony of the art exhibition ‘The Imprints of Mushref’.
The Ministry of Education, represented by the Directorate-General of Educational Supervision – Department of Individual Skills Supervision / Supervision of the Fine Arts subject, organised the exhibition in Muscat Mall from March 17 to March 23.
The exhibition includes a variety of artworks by more than 40 artists from the supervisors and first supervisors from the various governorates of the Sultanate of Oman, in addition to the subject specialists in the directorates of the Ministry’s headquarter.
The artistic fields of the displayed works vary among the wall works, including drawing and photography – synthesis works – lettering formations – digital design works, three-dimensional sculptural works, in addition to installation works.
The exhibition is accompanied by the establishment of applied workshops and critical dialogue sessions in the participating works of a group of specialists in arts from Sultan Qaboos University (SQU), the College of Scientific Design, and the Ministry of Education.
The applied workshops discuss several topics, including: the relationship between creative thinking and the development of artistic skills of the arts supervisor, the investigation of art and its impact on developing the skills of supervisors and teachers, and the role of the arts supervisor in enriching the technical and educational aspects of the teacher, and specialised art exhibitions are one of the tools pursued by the ministry to generate innovative artistic ideas and a healthy environment in which participating artists gain visual experiences, which helps them in refining their technical expertise and acquiring new skills.
In a statement to Dr. Sulaiman Al Jamudi, Director-General of the Directorate-General of Educational Supervision, he said: “The exhibition is the first productions of our fellow supervisors and specialists in arts.”
“It aims to highlight their skill aspects and exchange specialised technical expertise among them, in addition to spreading awareness of the importance of arts in society and emphasising the importance of the role of the first supervisor and supervisor as an experienced artist and role model for teachers and students in arts,” he further added.
