VIENNA: Star Russian soprano Anna Netrebko on Wednesday condemned Russia’s war of Ukraine and said she would resume performing in May, weeks after withdrawing from concert in the wake of the war.
After controversy had raged over her perceived support for Russian President Vladimir Putin, Netrebko said in a statement posted on her Facebook page: “I expressly condemn the war on Ukraine”, adding: “After taking my announced break, I will resume performing in late May, initially in Europe.” – AFP
