MUSCAT: The Directorate-General of Scouts and Guides (DGSG) on Monday unveiled its local programme for this summer, which contains lots of activities and events that aim at upgrading the skills of scouts, guides and rangers.
The summer programme, to be held between May and August, will see a wide participation of various age groups. DGSG will set up four camps at Jabal Ashur Plain in Dhofar Governorate.
Dr Yaqoub bin Khalfan al Nadabi, Director-General of DGSG, said that the summer programme aim to solidify social ties among the scouts and guides and allows them a chance to experience the nature and practice the methods of scouting, adding that the summer programme will include the Oman Rangers Challenge to be held on June 6-9 and targets female ranger job-seekers. — ONA
