Muscat: Within the framework of building and maintaining partnerships between Sultan Qaboos University and UniCorn Company to develop its programmes and keep pace with changes in national and global trends, the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering of the university successfully conducted a four-day energy manager training programme from June 20 to 23.
The training programme aimed at developing energy managers in various industries, institutions, and other establishments by imparting knowledge and empowering them in Energy Conservation Measures.
Also, it aimed to strengthen the link between Sultan Qaboos University and the industry.
The Technical Programme Management was organised by Unicorn International LLC, Oman and the Training Partners were Asia Power Quality Initiative, Leonardo Energy, Engineering Consulting and Design-Italy, and ERGO E-Learning.
The programme was crafted and executed by internationally renowned trainers with years of Industrial, teaching, and training experience.
Raya Services was the marketing partner for this programme.
The programme was attended by engineers from various institutions and organisations such as the Ministry of Defence, the Royal Oman Police, the Ministry of Energy and Minerals, Petroleum Development Company of Oman, and Daleel Petroleum Company.
The hands-on training elements and Energy Simulation training were appreciated by the attendees for the value that had been brought into this training programme, which will help them in their future energy practices.
It is worth noting that this training course is part of a Memorandum of Understanding signed between SQU and Unicorn, and will be followed by similar training programmes for energy auditors and Power Quality Managers in September and October.
University is keen to conduct such programmes in the coming years to support and contribute to the energy conservation and sustainability drive that will enhance the direct application of theoretical and practical skills of Omanis in line with Oman Vision 2040.
