Muscat: The total number of craftsmen in Oman has reached more than 23,000, the Authority for Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) Development (Riyada) said.
“The total number of craftsmen in the Sultanate reached 23,383, including 3,438 in North Al Batinah, 1,316 in South Al Batinah, 5,336 in North Al Sharqiyah, 6,902 in in Dhofar, 1,487 in Al Wusta Governorate, and 2,095 in Al Dakhiliyah Governorate,” the authority said in a statement.
According to the authority, the most practiced craft industries in the Sultanate is the cotton textile, followed by the woolen weaving, and the incense and cosmetics industry.
