Dr Ali bin Masoud al Sunaidy, Chairman of the Public Authority for Special Economic Zones and Free Zones (OPAZ), issued decisions appointing a number of general managers and managers for its different sectors and departments.
The decisions stipulated the appointment of Mahmood bin Hamoud al Rawahi as General Manager of Planning and IT Sector, Dr Said bin Khalifa al Tuirshi as General Manager of Investment Development Sector, Ahmed bin Saleh al Farsi as General Manager of Compliance and Legislation Sector and Eng Ahmed bin Ali Akaak as In-Charge of Managing the Operations of the Special Economic Zone at Duqm.
Other decisions stipulated the appointment of Eng Ahmed bin Harib al Balushi as Manager of Compliance and Environmental Affairs, Said bin Ahmed al Harthi as Manager of HR, Adil bin Saif al Raqadi, Manager of IT, Salim bin Said bin Khuwaydem Qatan, Manager of Investors Services in Duqm, and Eng. Abdullah bin Salim al Hakmani, Manager of Technical Affairs in Duqm.
The Public Authority for Special Economic Zones and Free Zones (OPAZ) was established as per the provision of the Royal Decree No. (105/2020), issued on August 18, 2020. It oversees the Special Economic Zone at Duqm, free zones in Sohar, Salalah and Al Mazunah and any other special economic zone or free zone in the Sultanate of Oman. OPAZ also oversees the Public Establishment for Industrial Estates (Madayn) as per the provision of the Royal Decree No. (53/2022).
