In a speech he delivered during the ceremony, Sayyid Ibrahim bin Said Al-Busaidi, Governor of Musandam, expressed his appreciation for OQ on its social investment projects implemented in the wilayats of Musandam and commended their positive social and economic impacts.
Muscat: Sayyid Ibrahim bin Said Al-Busaidi, governor of Musandam, patronised yesterday the induction ceremony on OQ’s Social Investment Projects at Musandam Governorate. The ceremony was attended by some Walis of the governorate, honourable members of the State Council, members of the Shura Council and some officials at OQ Group.
Sayyid Ibrahim was briefed on delivered and ongoing social investment projects carried out by OQ, a global integrated energy group, in the wilayats of the governorate. OQ has delivered a number of projects with a value amounting to about OMR3 million as part of its social investment projects.
This move is part of the corporate social responsibility of OQ Group and the efforts it exerts to serve local communities.
The group seeks to build strong tie with stakeholders and create new job opportunities. It endeavours to achieve growth and cement partnerships by planning and carrying out social projects to contribute to the social and economic development in the Sultanate.

He emphasised that these projects go in line with the governmental efforts exerted to develop the wilayats, which give priority to the sustainable impacts of completed and ongoing projects.
He indicated that these projects would enrich the social and tourist aspects in the wilayats of Musandam and serve the Omani citizens in particular. He noted that OQ’s social investment projects will drive other corporations to enhance their social role by supporting the local communities’ initiatives as part of their social investment programs.
He praised the cooperation of governmental entities and local communities with OQ Group in carrying out the social investment projects in a way that contributes to the smooth implementation of the set plans.
“These projects embody the social responsibility of OQ and its commitment towards the local communities it operates in. The projects enhance the efforts made to provide services as part of the development projects carried out by the government of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tariq, may Allah keep and protect him”, Ashraf bin Hamad Al-Mamari, CEO of Human Resources, Technology and Culture at OQ.
He explained: “OQ Group seeks to build strong relationships with all the stakeholders. It also endeavours to enter into partnerships with local communities by planning and implementing social projects with the objective of contributing to achieving the desired social and economic development in the Sultanate.”
Al-Mamari added: “The completed and ongoing projects implemented in the wilayats of Musandam governorate address urban, environmental and tourist aspects. They are considered one of the main pillars of OQ’s social investment program. We paid attention to implementing these projects to contribute to serving the local communities and visitors by adding aesthetic touches to the natural attractions at the governorate.”
Al-Mamari thanked all the governmental authorities including the office of Musandam governor, the offices of walis, the municipalities and all agencies for their cooperation in implementing the social investment projects.
