International Council for Politics and Strategic Studies is an independent research and think tank for the study of history and social sciences, with particular emphasis on the applied social sciences.
Through its academic and research activities, the ( ICHRAPS ) strives: to foster communication between Arab intellectuals and specialists in the social sciences and humanities in general; to build synergies between them and their societal and national concerns; to network with Arab and international research Centers and think tanks. These intellectual exchanges and interactions will be channeled through the process of research and critique, as well as the development of epistemological and conceptual tools and knowledge building mechanisms. Moreover, the Council seeks to deliberate Arab societal concerns which call for further research, and to influence the public sphere

المجلس الدولي للدراسات السياسية والاستراتيجية
يُعد المجلس الدولي للدراسات السياسية والاستراتيجية مركزًا مستقلاً للأبحاث لدراسة التاريخ والعلوم الإجتماعية مع إعطاء أولوية خاصة للعلوم الاجتماعية التطبيقية.
ومن خلال نشاطات المجلس الأكاديمية والبحثية، سعى الأخير لتوطيد الصلة بين مثقفين عرب ومتخصصين بالعلوم الاجتماعية والإنسانية بوجه عام؛ بهدف التآزر بينهم وبين مشاغلهم الاجتماعية والقومية للتواصل مع مراكز أبحاث عربية ودولية. و سيتم توجيه هذه التبادلات والتفاعلات عبر عملية من البحث والنقد وأيضا تطوير الوسائل المعرفية والمفاهيمية بالإضافة إلى آليات بناء المعرفة. وعلاوة على ذلك،يأمل المجلس في تداول المخاوف المجتمعية العربية التي تستوجب مزيدأ من البحث، ومن ثم التأثير على المجال العام. وبينما يلتزم المجلس بدفع قضايا الأمة العربية فهو يفعل ذلك عن طريق التنوير. فهو لا يستند فقط على افتراض أن التقدم لا يتعارض مع الثقافة والهوية العربية، ولكن أيضاً على حقيقة أن التقدم ليس ممكناً بدون نهوض المجتمع بكافة فئاته، و مع كل هذا وضع ظروفه التاريخية وثقافته ولغته في الاعتبار. وعلاوة على ذلك، يتطلب التقدم تفاعل المجتمعات مع باقي الثقافات.
يأتي على رأس اهتمامات المجلس النهوض بالمجتمعات والدول العربية و مد يد العون لبعضهم البعض أو بصفة عامة القضايا المتعلقة بالأمة العربية. وغاية المجلس تتمثل في رغبته في دراسة وتشخيص الموقف في العالم العربي – كدول ومجتمعات- لتحليل السياسات الاجتماعية والاقتصادية والثقافية؛ بغرض تقديم تحليل سياسي من منظور عربي. والمجلس يتعامل مع كبرى التحديات التي تواجها الأمة العربية، مثل: المواطنة والهوية والتفكك والتماسك فضلاً عن الركود العلمي والتكنولوجي.

The ( ICHRAPS ) is envisaged as one which plays a proactive role in the Arab region, not confining its work to scholarly research but translating it practically into various activities and initiatives.
