Job Title: Network Engineer
Division: Infrastructure & eServices
Reporting To: DG of Infrastructure & eServices

Overview:

To be part of Natinal Data Center (NDC) operation team to carry out all network related tasks to operate and maintain the NDC network infrastructure.

Main responsibilities:

1. To install, configure, and support the LANs, WANs and MPLS technolog based networks .
2. To maintain network and workstation hardware and software perferbly Cisco 6509 switches and Cisco LAN Management Solution (LMS) software.
3. To monitor network to ensure network availability to all system users and perform necessary maintenance to support network availability utilizing Cisco LMS.
4. To plan, co-ordinate, and implement network security measures.
5. To identify, diagnose, and resolve network problems to maintain KPIs and SLAs with NDC clients.
6. To manage performance tuning and capacity planning activities to enhance the performance of the network resources.
7. To perform routine backups and archival of files stored on the network to assist with disaster recovery.
8. To analyse user support statistics and other data and recommend appropriate measures.
9. To maintain the operating system and security software utilised on the network, including the addition of new users to the network and establishment of rights and privileges.
10. To create and maintain comprehensive documentation for all implemented networks.
11. To assist in preparation of proposals and solution presentations.
12. To carry out daily maintenance and problem resolution, operating system patches and software upgrades, and routine hardware configuration.
13. To review Service Request Forms (SRF) of the NDC clients to analysie network requirements and forward recommendations to NDC operation team.
14. To participate in reviewing NDC clients Service Level Agreements (SLAs) from the network point of view.
15. To review all technical reports provided by contractor network team and forward recommendations to enhance the system efficiency.
16. To participate in 24x7 on-call rotation.
17. To assist in maintinaing Cisco MDS SAN switches.
18. To assit in developing, maintaining and updateing ITIL based NDC processes and proceadures.
