Job Title: Network Engineer

Overview:
To be part of Natinal Data Center (NDC) operation team to carry out all network related tasks to operate and maintain the NDC network infrastructure.

Overview:
To be part of Natinal Data Center (NDC) operation team to carry out all network related tasks to operate and maintain the NDC network infrastructure.
Main responsibilities:
- To install, configure, and support the LANs, WANs and MPLS technolog based networks .
- To maintain network and workstation hardware and software perferbly Cisco 6509 switches and Cisco LAN Management Solution (LMS) software.
- To monitor network to ensure network availability to all system users and perform necessary maintenance to support network availability utilizing Cisco LMS.
- To plan, co-ordinate, and implement network security measures.
- To identify, diagnose, and resolve network problems to maintain KPIs and SLAs with NDC clients.
- To manage performance tuning and capacity planning activities to enhance the performance of the network resources.
- To perform routine backups and archival of files stored on the network to assist with disaster recovery.
- To analyse user support statistics and other data and recommend appropriate measures.
- To maintain the operating system and security software utilised on the network, including the addition of new users to the network and establishment of rights and privileges.
- To create and maintain comprehensive documentation for all implemented networks.
- To assist in preparation of proposals and solution presentations.
- To carry out daily maintenance and problem resolution, operating system patches and software upgrades, and routine hardware configuration.
- To review Service Request Forms (SRF) of the NDC clients to analysie network requirements and forward recommendations to NDC operation team.
- To participate in reviewing NDC clients Service Level Agreements (SLAs) from the network point of view.
- To review all technical reports provided by contractor network team and forward recommendations to enhance the system efficiency.
- To participate in 24x7 on-call rotation.
- To assist in maintinaing Cisco MDS SAN switches.
- To assit in developing, maintaining and updateing ITIL based NDC processes and proceadures.
