GM Engineering (MEP / HVAC)
Reporting to COO
Mechnical Engineer with at least 15 years experiance in MEP and HVAC who progressed from Site Engineer to Project (s) Manager and at leat 5 years as GM in a reputable Company with mutiple high value projetcs
Key Expectations:
· Business development – Strong Sales background, Strong influencing and negotiating skills[C1]
· Extensive management & technical knowledge on Project planning & execution
· Leadership, resource planning & mobilization
· Demonstrate success in Marketing and / or brand building of HVAC. Effective management of principal suppliers of international repute.
· Good engineering practices to be developed within the team
· Proficient in handling the most complex of technical development concepts, latest Engineering software tools and technologies, strong database concepts and designing techniques. Well versed in design standards & codes. Knowledge of various computer programs.
· Evaluate risk associated with business opportunities and contractual obligations. Write timely correspondence for variations, claims, and secure company’s interest by proper contractual letters.
· Overall P&L (budgetary) responsibility. Accountability for the financial and operational performance
· Financial management specifically focused on tendering, cost control, contract preparation and understanding contractual obligations in projects with engineering guidance
· Excellent communication, managerial and organizational skills. Excellent customer relationship
· Comply and ensure entire area of operations complies with Genetco Business Code of Conduct
· Comply with the QMS and H&S policies and of the company, develop Engineering manuals and processes for good engineering practices and implement the same in various projects. Responsible for developing and maintaining a safe & engaging environment for employees. Make quality and safety plan and ensure implementation of that
Job Responsibilities:
· One of the main and most strategic tasks is to be actively involved in Tendering / Estimation / Negotiations for successfull generation of contracts
- Ownership for growth, achieving sales plans through proper pricing, customer satisfaction and implementation of business plans
- Provide leadership to the functions of sales, projects and service
- Excellent PR activities are required to acquire new projects through technical and business insight
- Understanding market strategies, competitors, in-depth understanding of local market, main contractors and consultancy firms, to achieve targets
- Input local market data and ideas to marketing & development function
- Lead the Annual Budgeting exercise and in ensuring that the numbers committed are met by the team
- Coordinates resources to appropriately balance strategic objectives with financial return (profit) and efficient use of financial assets (including working capital)
- Accountability for the financial and operational performance, contractual compliance, management & leadership of management staff and associated employees, maintenance of client relationships, and support for the development of new clients and solutions
- Manage sales teams and ensure individual targets are achieved
- Achieving high efficiencies in manpower in projects. Ensure proper timely sourcing of qualified and experienced engineers, technicians, and labor commensurate to the requirement and as per budget and efficient deployment to various ongoing projects. Ensure appropriate staffing levels such that programs meet financial and service delivery goals
- Planning and implementation of training programs for new recruits and engineers. Meeting the Omanization requirements
- Ensure proper coordination and communications with main contractors and resolve such issues related to project execution
- Good engineering practices to be developed within the team
- Develop a good engineering team and maintain high quality of drawings, material submittals and project documentation
- Develop Engineering manuals for good engineering practices and implement that same in various projects
- Take lead role in procurement process, arranging and supervising sub-contract agreements / supply agreements to minimize the cost incurred and increase profitability of the project
- Responsible for receivables and inventory management
· Budgeting and regular update of commercial aspect of the projects
Quality Management System:
· Is responsible to demonstrate the clauses for: Context of the organization, Leadership, Planning, Support, Operation, Performance evaluation and Improvement clauses along with his full team
· Ensuring that processes needed for the QMS are established , implemented and maintained
· Ensuring the promotion of awareness of customer requirements in the area of operations
Occupational Health & Safety Management System:
· Is responsible to demonstrate the clauses for: Context of the organization, Leadership, Planning (Hazard identification and assessment of risks and opportunities etc), Support (Resources, Competence, Awareness, and Communication etc.), Operation (Eliminating hazards and reducing risks, etc.), Performance evaluation (Monitoring, Measurement, Analysis) and Improvement clauses along with his full team.
· Provide direction and guidance to managers to promote a positive health and safety culture in workplace
· Provide Safety support and advice on preparation of plans, procedures and in-house safety training activities
