Muscat: Meetings of the 68th session of the Regional Committee for the Eastern Mediterranean (EMRC68) concluded on Thursday.
The four-day session was held virtually and facilitated from WHO’s Regional Office in Cairo, Egypt.
Health Ministers and representatives from the EM region countries along with partner organizations took part in the session’s meetings.
The Sultanate participated in the meetings with an official delegation headed by Dr Ahmed Mohammed al Saeedi, Minister of Health.
The Regional Committee discussed this year a range of key priority issues, including progress on climate change, tobacco control, implementation of the International health regulations, maternal newborn, child and adolescent health, hospital care, mental health and the public health response to substance use. –ONA
