The Philippines has amended the testing and quarantine protocols for countries not classified under the Red List category, the country’s embassy in the Sultanate of Oman said on Saturday.
Even fully vaccinated travellers from Oman, which was recently included in the green list, will have to undergo an institutional quarantine on arrival in the Philippines.
The country’s Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID) updated the testing and quarantine protocols for all international passengers entering the Philippines.
Fully vaccinated travellers will be required to present a negative RT-PCR test result taken within 72 hours before departure. On arrival in the Philippines, they will undergo facility-based quarantine and will re-take a swab test upon the fifth day. Regardless of a negative result, they are required to undergo home quarantine up to their 14th day upon arrival.
For individuals who are unvaccinated, partially vaccinated, and whose vaccination status cannot be independently validated, are required to present a negative RT-PCR test done within 72 hours before their departure from their country of origin.
They are also to go under facility-based quarantine upon arrival in the Philippines and re-take a swab test on the seventh day from their arrival.
Even if they get a negative result, they are also required to undergo home quarantine up to the 14th day from their arrival.
Minors will follow the testing and quarantine protocol of the parent or guardian travelling with them, regardless of the minor’s vaccination status and country of origin.
Airlines have been directed to ensure that they allow only passengers who comply with the negative RT-PCR test protocol.
