Job Purpose
To carry out and facilitate the maintenance and repairs schedule of all I&C systems in a timely and Safe manner.

Key Responsibilities
Maintenance
Able to perform defect detection and rectification as required for I&C Equipment and systems involving Field and Control Room Items located in a CCGT Power Plant.

Carry out inspections as per daily maintenance schedule; attend defects, breakdowns, including the repairing and calibration of I&C systems.
Conduct disassembling and assembling of I&C related Field Equipment and of Gas turbine, Steam Turbine for repairs/rehabilitation and ensure safety and security as per the company’s policies and procedures.
Well versed with working on Analyzer, CEMS, Boiler / HRSG management items, I&C meters and transmitters.
Shall have working experience at Field Sensing elements of speed, vibration, process parameters of pressure, temperature, level, flow, etc.
Hand on experience at Control valves (Pneumatic, Hydraulic, others), MOVs.
Familiarize working with control system and able to assist I&C engineer.
Hands on experience with Fire Fighting system.
Supportive to I&C Team Engineer in preparation of tools and machinery in all I&C maintenance work.
Be on call to resolve emergency breakdowns as active member towards uninterrupted plant operations.
Support to I&C Reporting Engineer in spare parts management as required.
Well versed with OHSE Management system and specifically PTW, Lock out Tag Out procedures.
Supportive to I&C Engineer in compilation of all required information/data/records on I&C system maintenance and repair work done for necessary reporting.
Fill in necessary maintenance work order forms and PPM forms/schedules as guided by Supervisor.
Adhere to company’s HSE and security policies at all times and report any violations to HSE representative.
Adhere to Company policies and procedures at all times.
Work with Other CO workers with best technical support to ensure reliable Maintenance Operation roles.
Act as guided by I&C team Engineers as instructed time to time.

Job Purpose
To Maintain the Distribution Control System and Instrumentation Control Maintenance
To Maintain the Distribution Control System and Instrumentation Control Maintenance(DCS & I&C) of a CCGT Power Plant located at Ibri and Sohar.
To provide technical assistance and supervise other I/C maintenance staff in planning and scheduling of their work, assigning jobs, sourcing required tools and equipment, arranging materials and spares for carrying out the maintenance activities.
To maintain the plant instrumentation, DCS, ESD, FGS, PLC, Analyzers, machine monitoring system and package instruments and control system and maximize their availability for uninterrupted plant operation by following different maintenance strategies and proper job and spares planning.
To be involved in the planning of work as per plant priority.
To implement plant modifications to improve plant reliability and add value to maintenance tasks.
Key Responsibilities
Maintenance
Conduct and manage maintenance of GT-26 Gas Turbine Control System, DCS, Field Instruments and PLC Systems in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions and standard procedures.

Ensure that the DCS & IC lab and workshop requirements of the generating systems are adequately met.
Ensure a prompt trouble shooting of Plant Control System
Coordinate the DCS & IC activities for various facilities to ensure that the operation requirement of all facilities is met on time.
Provide input to the monitoring of expenditure to ensure minimum variance from the approved budgets.
Provide inputs required for design and development of policies, processes, systems and standard operating procedures for equipment maintenance, define spares and materials procurement/approval policies
Review and update standard maintenance procedures for all I&C
Participate in development and finalization of Maintenance Plan by providing inputs on Instrumentation & Control Maintenance requirement/status.
Maintain all IT systems – hardware, software and networking in co-ordination with the Corporate IT team. Ensure that proper house-keeping is implemented in all work areas.
Identify maintenance services to be provided by external contractors, assist in development of tender specifications, monitor quality and progress of work executed by external contractors
Ensure high standard of Environment, Health and Safety policies are in practice
Plan and execute the monthly Preventive and Routine Maintenance of Field Instruments as per preventive maintenance plan.
Calibration and maintenance of Field instruments such as Transmitters, Control Valves, Switches, Valve positioners, Safety Valves, Conductivity Meters, pH Meters, Emission Monitoring Instruments, ON – OFF Valves, Vibration Monitors, Level Gauge and Transmitters, Magnetic Flow Meters, Flame Scanners.
Submit job hazard analysis form with all work orders and discuss the same with shift engineer prior to perform a work.
Responsible for taking a monthly DCS alarm & trend backup and restore on backup server.
Responsible for maintaining of critical spare parts for designated area of plant.
Prepare of weekly and monthly I & C related maintenance activities and provide a monthly maintenance accrual.
Responsible to close all related work orders in CMMS after completion of work.
Maintain workshop instrument and responsible for yearly third party calibration for all standard instruments.

Conduct field walk-downs to identify and analyze corrective and preventive maintenance, modification.
Responsible to prepare Root cause analysis of equipment failures and plant tripping.
Assist Maintenance Manager in preparation of annual maintenance budget.

Plant annual outage coordination, contract administration
Safety training to contractor manpower
Supervision of regular contract manpower hired for assistance
Supervision of contractor manpower during outage.

Observation and control of Contractors man power safety and responsible for conducting of tool box talk periodically.
Responsible for maintaining all the critical spares.
Responsible for routine checkup of all the firefighting panel and ensure the healthiness of Fire Fighting System.
To carry out modification to improve efficiency/safety/heat rate and to reduce energy consumption.
To update drawings and records for any modification/change in plant layout, equipment, circuit etc.
Coordinate with Operations functions to ensure swift response to emergency breakdowns.
Work with Procurement function to ensure availability of needed spare parts and review PRs/POs prior to submitting to Function Head, Maintenance for approval.
Ensure the maintenance and security of control software, system backups and policies and procedures manuals.
Prepare necessary reports on time.
Guide subordinates by providing them with technical guidance, training and the required learning opportunities to ensure that subordinates grow in their roles.
Facilitate team development activities and ensure a sound work culture within the Control and Instrumentation Maintenance function.

Job Specifications & Qualifications
