Muscat: To encourage investment, the Public Authority for Special Economic Zones and Free Zones ( OPAZ) launched a fast track service for investors residency requests in the special economic zones and free zones, which will be available through a One-Stop Shop system.
OPAZ has been issuing a long-term residency visas for a period of up to 5 to 10 years foreign investors, interested in residing in special economic zones and free zones, particularly to those who wish to contribute significantly towards the employment of job seekers and the development of small and medium enterprises.
Dr. Said bin Khalifa al Turashi of OPAZ, said that the new service enables investors registered in the special economic zones and free zones to apply for a residence visa for different periods of time immediately upon registration in the authority’s commercial registry.
