Muscat: The Ministry of Labour will soon announce the results of a review of fees charged for issuance of work visas for expatriates in the Sultanate of Oman, His Excellency Minister of Labour said on Thursday, adding that the process itself had been completed.
His Excellency Dr. Mahad bin Said Baowain, Minister of Labour, said during a virtual press conference that the minimum wage study results from joint committees and production parties, and its review is in place.
He explained that there was a request to study raising the minimum wage and that this matter requires a great effort and includes studying the market conditions besides other factors, such as the situation of the economy, as well as the effects of the pandemic. The minimum wage currently stands at 325 OMR.
