Interactive museum opens in Stockholm for Swedish DJ Avicii

An interactive museum in honour of the late Swedish DJ Avicii was inaugurated in Stockholm on Thursday by the musician’s father, Karl Bergling, along with Sweden’s Prince Carl Philip and his wife Princess Sofia.

The Avicii Experience museum dedicated to the musician known for hits “Levels” and “Wake Me Up” will be open to the public in the centre of the Swedish capital from Saturday.

Stockholm was the home city of Tim Bergling, who took the professional name of Avicii. The music producer and DJ was found dead in Muskat, the capital of Oman, on April 20, 2018.

Police did not suspect foul play. Avicii was suffering from psychological problems when he died at the age of 28.

The Avicii Experience aims to pay tribute to him by focusing on both the artist Avicii and on Tim Bergling as a person.

Part of the income will go to the Tim Bergling Foundation that is active in promoting measures to prevent psychological illness and suicide, in particular among young people.–dpa
