Suhar: Wheat harvesting season began in the wilayats of the Governorate of North Al Batinah, which was cultivated on an area of 50 Feddan (each Feddan equals 4,200 square metres).
The Directorate General of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources in the Governorate North Al Batinah exerts efforts in encouraging the farmers to cultivate various agricultural crops through providing improved seeds, guidance and periodic follow-up, as well as harvesting service.
The directorate added that during the last season, wheat production ranged between 70 to 75 tonnes, while this season is expected to be lower than the last season, due to the impact of Shaheen Cyclone on the governorate in October 2021.
