Muscat, April 5
Al Bashayer club sealed direct promotion to the top tier league in the next season after defeating Al Mudhaibi 4-0 late on Monday ahead of the first division league conclusion by two rounds. At Sur Sports Complex, Dyoob (two goals), Mahmood al Sawafi and Faisal al Aghbari scored the goals and confirmed the historic promotion for Al Dakhiliyah representative team to Omantel League for the first time ever.
Al Bashayer team, coached by national coach Hamed al Shaqsi, managed to reach 21 points and led the second group. In the first phase of the league, Al Bashayer club players led the fourth group and ended all the games on victory note. Two more games are remaining for winners Al Bashayer in the first division league in second group. The team will meet Samayil on Sunday and the following fixture will be against Sur on April 16.
In the first group, Al Khabourah are inch closer to seal the second direct ticket to Omantel League as they registered a 2-1 crucial win over Bausher at Sohar Sports Complex on Monday. The win helped the northern Batinah team to reach their tally to 18 points. Al Khabourah will take on Qurayat on Sunday and Al Oruba on April 16. In the same group, Al Oruba edged Ibri 1-0 with the all-important goal scored by Danial Etor. With the win, Al Oruba’s tally reached 16 points, two behind leaders Al Khabourah.
