Muscat: The Ministry of Social Development has published a clarification on a clip circulating on social media showing a girl who was exhausted and fell asleep while selling goods on the side of the road in one of the governorates.
The Ministry said: “The child protection representative in the state in which the child is from, visited the site and met her father, who is of Arab nationality, and the necessary action was taken.”
It stressed that the Child Law in Article 45 of Chapter Seven stipulates that it is prohibited to employ any child in jobs and industries that, by their nature or by the circumstances in which they are engaged, are likely to harm their health, safety, or moral behaviour.
