Muscat: The Ministry of Health (MoH) on Sunday said that they have formed a committee under the Director General of the General Directorate of Private Health Institutions to study the possibility of reducing treatment fees at private health institutions in the Sultanate.
Dr Muhanna bin Nasser Al Maslahi, the Director General of the Directorate General of Private Health Institutions, represented by several directorates, is working on digital transformation of this sector, so that all transactions will be carried out electronically.
He confirmed that there are joint actions with all parties to simplify procedures of the proposed digital transformation.
“A committee has been formed to review service fees at private healthcare institutes and possibilities of reducing the fee in line with the direction of the government to support investment,” he added.
Dr. Al-Maslihi indicated that there are approximately 1,600 health establishments in the sultanate with 11 new private hospitals under construction.
