Vilnius: President Gitanas Nausėda of the Republic of Lithuania received Sayyid Badr Hamad Al Busaidi, Foreign Minister at the Presidential Palace on Tuesday.
During the meeting, Sayyid Badr conveyed greetings and best wishes of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik to President Nausėda and the people of Lithuania.
In his turn, President Nausėda expressed his sincere sentiments to His Majesty the Sultan, wishing His Majesty good health and happiness. The Lithuanian President also wished the relations between the two countries further development and growth.
The meeting underscored ties of friendship and cooperation between Oman and Lithuania and stressed the joint keenness to promote them in various diplomatic, economic, cultural and scientific fields.
Meanwhile, the Lithuania government granted Sayyid Badr the Commander’s Cross of the Order for Merits to Lithuania, in appreciation for his efforts in boosting cooperation relations between the two countries.
The order was handed over to Sayyid Badr by President Nausėda.
Sayyid Badr expressed his thanks for being honored with the high-ranking Lithuanian order, looking forward to work with his Lithuania counterpart in advancing the cooperation relations and partnership in many fields.
The meeting was attended by Khalid Hashel Al Muselhi, Head of the Minister’s Office Department, Boleta Senkiene, Honorary Consul of the Sultanate of Oman in Lithuania and some officials from both sides.
