As Prince Charles Philip Arthur George was formally proclaimed king in London on Saturday, it may be noted that the then Prince of Wales had visited the Sultanate of Oman in November 2016.
Apart from travelling to Oman to take part in the mourning of late Sultan Qaboos, King Charles III had visited Oman in 2013.
In 2016, the Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall began the tour of Oman as guests of late Sultan Qaboos.
Prince Charles and the accompanying delegation visited the National Museum and took a tour of various galleries.
The Prince of Wales visited the Misfat al Abriyeen village, which is known for its agricultural terraces along the mountain slopes and traditional mud houses built with carved wooden doors, palm frond roofs and solid rock foundations.
During that trip, the Duchess of Cornwall visited Oman Cancer Association’s Dar al Hanan Hostel, a centre where families affected by cancer can stay together while children undergo treatment.
The Duchess heard how the Oman Cancer Association supports children and their families and met supporters of the important organisation. She also met Omani female entrepreneurs and women in business at an event to showcase their success.
The hostel serves children not only within the Sultanate of Oman, but also from other countries such as Yemen and provides access to both the Royal Hospital and the Sultan Qaboos University Hospital.
