MUSCAT: The Ministry of Social Development followed with deep concern a video clip circulated on social media of a child being physically abused.
In a statement, the ministry explained that it interfered, through a child protection officer, soon after receiving report about the incident on Wednesday, September 14.
The ministry said legal procedures were taken and the perpetrators were arrested in coordination with the relevant authorities.
The ministry said that the health condition of the child is stable, affirming that it is following his condition with the relevant authorities.
The Ministry of Social Development confirmed its keenness to ensure that the rights of children in the Sultanate of Oman are protected.
