Muscat: As per the Royal orders of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik and at the request of the US government, the concerned authorities in the Sultanate of Oman coordinated with the competent authorities in the Islamic Republic of Iran to get the release of US citizen Mohammed Baqer Namazi.
The royal order was also based on humanitarian grounds.
He was transferred from Iran to Muscat by a Royal Airforce of Oman (RAFO) aircraft in preparation for a return to his home country.
