PDO's Sarah takes top honours at women's bowling

Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth represented by the Women’s Sports Department and in cooperation with the Oman Committee for Bowling Sports is organising the 14th edition of Women’s Bowling Championship, team category competitions, from October 11 to 19, at the Al Noor Bowling Centre.

The tournament is being competed by nine teams from various government and private sector firms namely, Royal Court Affairs (RCA), Petroleum Development Oman, Muscat Municipality, Oman Electricity Transmission Company, Mohammed Al Barwani Holding Company, Oman Water and Wastewater Services Company, Worli Engineering Company, OQ Company and Omran Company, while the tournament will conclude on Wednesday with the teachers category competitions.

As many as 32 players representing nine teams ended the singles category competitions with great results, where each player competed in four matches.

Sarah from PDO won first place in the individual category competition with a score of 648 points from four matches. Aziza from Oman Electricity Transmission Company (OETC) came in second with 581 points. Tamader from the Worli Engineering Company snatched the third place with 532 points. OETC’s Zahra claimed fourth spot with a total of 493 points while fifth place was claimed by Fathia from Muscat Municipality with 479 points.

RCA’s Majida was sixth with 466 points, MB Holding’s Saada was seventh with 456 points, Fatima from Worli Eng came eighth with 455 points, Shamsa from MB Holding was ninth with 449 points and Worli Eng’s Mona finished 10th with 435 points.

In the doubles category competitions, the Oman Electricity Transmission Company won the first place through Aziza al Buraiki and Zahra al Rawahi. The Petroleum Development Oman claimed second place with Sarah al Maskari and Heba al Nabeeh, while Worli Engineering Company finished third with Tamader al Balushi and Fatima al Zadjali.
