Muscat: The Ministry of Interior has announced the names of candidates contesting the membership of municipal councils for the third term. The lists are available via the election website (elections.om).

As many as 727 candidates, among them 28 women, are contesting the elections.

Article (41) of the Municipal Council Elections Regulation states that candidates may carry out election campaigns to introduce themselves from its date till the penultimate day of voting.

Electoral advertising media have been determined as billboards, print media and other means of communication, according to the ministry, which indicated that publicity applications have to be routed via the election website.
