The Algerian president called for building an Arab economic bloc that preserves common interests so that the Arab countries will be an economic power in the international community.

On Palestinian cause, he called for adhering to the Arab peace initiative, as it is the only way to achieve a just peace for the Palestinian cause, and to hold a session of the United Nations General Assembly to grant Palestine full membership in the United Nations.

Delegated by His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, HH Sayyid Asaad bin Tarik al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for International Relations and Cooperation Affairs, Personal Representative of His Majesty the Sultan, is heading the Sultanate of Oman’s delegation at the 31st Arab Summit.

HH Sayyid Asaad is accompanied by an official delegation comprising Sayyid Badr bin Hamad al Busaidy, Foreign Minister, Dr Abdullah bin Mohammed al Saeedi, Minister of Justice and Legal Affairs, Dr Said bin Mohammed al Saqri, Minister of Economy, Shaikh Khalifa bin Ali al Harthy, Under-Secretary of the Foreign Ministry for Diplomatic Affairs, Abdullah bin Nasser al Rahbi, Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to Egypt and Permanent Representative to the Arab League, Saif bin Nasir al Badai, Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to Algeria, and the two advisers at the Office of HH Sayyid Asaad.

President Abdelmadjid Tebboune also referred to the need to expedite the implementation of comprehensive reforms for the tools of joint Arab action, and calls on Libyans, Syrians and Yemenis for dialogue in order to reach consensual solutions to their internal issues.

The summit aims to reach agreements on several challenges facing the region, including the situations in Libya, Yemen, Syria and Palestine, according to the Algerian news agency APS.
