Thirty-two of artists from across the world who chose Oman as their place of work came together for a unique artistic treat by showcasing myriad images as they saw and painted at the Waterfront in Shatti Qurum.
Titled ‘Avenues of Wonders’, the art exhibition was opened by Her Highness Mera Marshal Majid al Said with Her Highness Sayyida Susan al Said (Founder of Bait Muzna Gallery) as guest of honour in the presence of dignitaries Abdul Latheef, MD, Badr al Samaa group, Reena Jain (FS Culture) Embassy of India, Anoop Bijily, Second Secretary (Politics, Publicity and Information) Embassy of India and supported by Austin Albert D’Silva and Geetu at the Art & Soul Gallery.
These 32 artists are exploring their experience through unique styles and techniques in painting revolving with wonderous, inspiring ideas around them.
The exhibition reflects the sources of wonders around us where the artist can think beyond what they usually believe as wonders other than the seven wonders of the world. The world we live in has been reshaped by so many landmarked wonders, which has changed by so many insights into the present past, and future.
The art expo, which will get over on November 10, has been attracting a steady stream of art aficionados ever since it was opened last Wednesday.
“It was an unforgettable interesting evening with the talented participants and crowd surrounded by the colourful paintings and live instrumental music as well,” said Sheffy Thattarath, one of the artists participating in the expo.
The ‘avenues of wonders’ or ‘path of wonders’ could be colourful streets, beautiful markets, skyscrapers, polar regions, tropical regions, deserts or lush green surroundings, or any beautifully created mirror artworks of a person or things or animals or florals presented in a different way using different mediums.
The theme visualizes our fascination, adoration, or curiosity with day-to-day experience in our life and the awe-inspiring way that the natural and artificial world works. The exuberant exhibition features abstract, mixed media, mirror works, realism, semi-realism, and much more. Most of the works are based on color compositions, texture, nature, buildings, monuments, still-life, and pottery works.
