Muscat: The National Museum, in collaboration with the French Embassy in the Sultanate of Oman and the Omani-French Friendship Association, hosted a panel discussion titled “The perfume industry: exploring new frontiers”.
The panel discussion was participated by fragrance creators of the most prestigious perfume brands from Oman and France. The event is part of the cultural programmes accompanying the ‘Fragrant Journeys’ exhibition, which is a collaboration between the National Museum of Oman and the Museum of Fine Arts of Lyon who have agreed to showcase a selection of perfume related artefacts.
The ‘Fragrant Journeys’ exhibition started on October 17, 2022, and will run till May 7, 2023, at Bayt Greiza located in the National Museum district in Muscat.
The panel discussion aimed to speak about the new market trends, highlighting the link between the luxury and prestige culture of perfume in France and Oman.
Veronique Aulagnon, Ambassador of France to the Sultanate of Oman, underscored the importance of increasing the exchange of expertise and cooperation in line with Oman’s desire to develop this sector within the framework of Oman Vision 2040 and France’s leading role in this sector. She pointed out that both Oman and France have many opportunities to benefit from the perfume industry.
It is worth noting that “Fragrant Journeys” is an exhibition dedicated to a selection of works of art related to the theme of perfume. The exhibition invites visitors to live a unique sensory experience to approach certain works of art in the exhibition.
