Muscat: The Ministry of Education has dismissed as rumour information being circulated that the use of school buses by students would be charged a fee.
“The Ministry denies what is being circulated on social media about the imposition of a fee for students’ use of school buses and the failure of the Ministry to pay the salaries of bus drivers. The Ministry stresses the importance of taking information from its official accounts,” a statement said.
The Ministry also issued a statement on information regarding the provision of textbooks being circulated on social media. “The Ministry of Education followed up what was circulated on social media regarding the provision of textbooks for the academic year 2021/2022 and in this regard, it would like to clarify that it has provided all the textbooks, and most of them have been distributed. As for the books that were not distributed due to the delay in printing conditions, they are also available in electronic formats.”
“The Ministry will prepare brochures for schools on the mechanism they will follow in teaching the first units or lessons of these books until they are available, without the guardian bearing any financial consequences,” the Ministry added.
