Muscat: The revenues of 3-5 star hotel surged by 96.6% as at the end of October 2022 compared to the corresponding period in 2021 to stand at RO 138,205,000, according to the monthly statistical bulletin of tourism indicators issued by the National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI).
The number of 3-5 star hotels’ guests increased by 32.5% till the end of October 2022 compared to the same period in 2021, while occupancy rate grew by 19.1% till the end of October 2022.
The number of guests from the GCC during the same period registered a significant surge by 521.6%, reaching 129,150 guests compared to 20,778 guests during the corresponding period in 2021. European guests followed by recording an increase by 446.8% to reach 245,262 guests compared to 44,855 during the same period in 2021.
Meanwhile, the number of Omani guests at those hotels declined by 15.1% from 691,492 by the end of October 2021 to 586,851 till the end of October 2022.
The number of American guests at the end of October 2022 stood at 64,249 guests, constituting a rise by 201.5% compared to the corresponding period in 2021. The number of guests from the African continent stood at 6,733, comprising a growth of 95.8% compared to the same period in 2021.
The number of Asian guests also increased by 47.7%, reaching 166,245, as compared to 112,588 guests during the same period in 2021.
