Bank Muscat, the leading financial services provider in the Sultanate of Oman, has announced its strong support for the 29th edition of the Muscat International Book Fair, which is being held at the Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre until 3 May 2025. This year’s fair was inaugurated under the patronage of H.H. Sayyid Dr Fahad bin Al Julanda Al Said, Vice Chancellor of Sultan Qaboos University. The exhibition reinforces its role as a key cultural event in the Sultanate, striving to enhance community awareness and foster a vibrant cultural movement. This annual gathering ignites interest in reading, offering visitors access to the latest cultural publications and books from local, regional and international publishers.
This year’s festival is experiencing a positive visitor turnout, focused on enriching Omani culture through a variety of events, lectures, and seminars. With participation from 35 countries, the fair showcases over half a million titles from more than 600 publishing houses, including 27,464 Omani publications. The fair also includes a Children’s Corner where an area has been allocated for family activities, a theatre, reading corners and cultural workshops. Notably, North A’Sharqiyah Governorate is this year’s “Guest of Honour,” emphasizing its significant social and cultural contribution while highlighting its rich historical features.
As part of its participation, Bank Muscat will host a live interaction workshop on May 3rd from 1 to 2 pm, focusing on financial literacy through the “Maliyat Academy” initiative and Maliyat Platform. The workshop will feature a Q&A segment to encourage visitor engagement. This topic was selected to highlight the importance of financial literacy as a vital tool for empowerment in a rapidly evolving world. This initiative aligns with the Bank’s broader strategy to enhance financial awareness and deliver innovative banking solutions that promote financial inclusion and foster a financially literate and stable society.
The Bank is committed to strengthening partnership with governmental, private and non-governmental organisations to effectively organise events and initiatives that promote sustainable development across various sectors in the Sultanate. Through its active participation in social and cultural activities, Bank Muscat deepens its commitment to this cause. The Bank actively collaborates with organisers in order to maximize the achievements of the exhibition, showcasing the richness of Oman’s cultural heritage to an increasingly diverse audience.
