Indian Schools offer more relief to parents

Muscat: Indian Schools are geared up to welcome students on campus from the first week of October in a phased manner. Students are excited about returning to school after a break of 18 months; parents, too, are happy about sending their wards to school despite the expenses they have to meet on uniforms, transport and other allied purchases before sending them to school after a long time.

Parents have been going through a lot of difficulties during the Covid-19 pandemic period. They have expressed their concerns through their representatives in the Board and requested for a reduction in the school fees. Having considered their concerns positively, the Board has unanimously decided to waive the non-refundable infrastructure fees for the current academic year 2021-2022. Those who have already paid the non-refundable infrastructure fee for the current academic year will have the amount adjusted in their school fees.

“The decision of the Board to waive the non-refundable infrastructure fee for the current academic year is taken after discussing the ongoing financial constraints of parents due to the pandemic,” said Dr. Sivakumar Manickam, Chairman, Board of Directors, Indian Schools in Oman.

The Indian Schools have taken many relief measures to assuage the financial crunch experienced by parents during the pandemic. Besides the usual fee concession granted by the Schools, parents who lost their job during pandemic and are facing financial constraints have also been included among the beneficiaries of fee concession. Moreover, schools also allow parents to pay the fees monthly instead of quarterly payment.
