2 dead, 3 critical in merchant ship accident

Muscat: Two people died and three others were in critical condition after falling into a fuel tank on a merchant ship at sea.

The Ministry of Defence said in a statement: “The Royal Air Force of Oman carried out a medical evacuation at sea for crew members of a transiting commercial vessel 70 miles northeast of Masirah Island, after they fell into a fuel tank, resulting in the death of two people. Three people who were critical were transferred to Sur Hospital for treatment.”
